Inspiration
Inspiration from nature is one of the main features of this design. The mother nature can be taken as the origin of far more phenomenal design than we have. The main form was inspired by the whale’s tail and it was designed for short-term resting and it is also appropriate for resolving muscle fatigues.
Ideation
The Whale chair gets its name from the killer-whale-tail shaped structure Its design form gives it a real edgy, modern character that one usually sees in studios, ateliers, shopping malls, and even in plages.
Developed Concept
The stool is about the connection between physical movement and your visual perception of it
It’s made from three pieces of fiberglass with a high-gloss urethane finish.
About the ergonomics of this stool, it’s good to say that people of all shapes and sizes were asked to sit in my mock up.
Their feedback allewed me to find the perfect setup to make it comfortable for everyone.
Alfa prototype
The first prototype was made of plasterin scale of quarter to resolve the potential deficiencies.
Beta prototype
the second prototype was made of foam in scale of a second in order to review the product with more finesse.
Final mockup
The final mock up was designed by software in format of 40section. it came out as3d with CNC from wood
The external form was compited by priming several times
